Phase 2 of the solar power system

Powering progress with solar energy

In the pursuit of sustainable energy solutions, ENRX marked a new milestone with the launch of Phase 2 of the solar power system at our facility in India.

“We are very proud to announce another significant milestone with the launch of Phase 2 of our solar power system which will more than double its power capacity”, says Managing Director Vishal Lodha. “With this expansion, the solar panels will cover up to 50% of the power consumption of the factory, significantly reducing our reliance on non-renewable sources.”

Phase 1 of this ambitious project, which was completed in March of last year, was an important steppingstone in the journey towards an even more sustainable operation. The panels, which were strategically placed on top of the covered parking lot, are designed save 175 tonnes of CO2 emissions annually. The second phase panels are placed on the rooftop of the plant and boast an even higher capacity. With a projected lifespan of 25 years, this solar power system is expected to mitigate an impressive 8610 tonnes of CO2 emissions over its lifetime, equivalent to the environmental impact of planting 13,776 teak trees.

“This underscores our commitment to reducing our carbon footprint and embracing cleaner, renewable energy sources”, the MD says. “Now more than ever, it is imperative that we make sustainable choices so that we can help limit global warming to 1,5°C above pre-industrial levels. Induction technology can truly make a difference here. Our induction heating solutions have always been aligned with the principles of sustainability, contributing to less waste, less pollution, and reduced energy and resource consumption. However, although having a green technology is a good starting point, sustainable choices extend beyond the products we offer to how we manufacture them.”

All over the world, customers have now started to demand eco-friendly products, and in the B2B market buyers are increasingly concerned with their suppliers’ commitment to Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) factors.

“We wholeheartedly welcome this, because, at ENRX, we view sustainability not as an obstacle for business, but as an opportunity to ensure long-term growth”, Vishal Lodha affirms, highlighting how environmental considerations were at the forefront when designing their state-of-the-art premises in Bengaluru. The building seamlessly blends functionality and productivity with sustainability and energy efficiency. “We have a mango orchard in the garden and inside the building, we even have a living wall of plants,” he smiles. “A solar power system was the next natural step.”

Beyond the anticipated long-term business benefits of demonstrating dedication to the environment, the solar panels are set to prove profitable in the short term as well.

“The best part of this? ENRX invested zero capital in this project”, Vishal Lodha grins. “Instead, ENRX will purchase power from the company that set up the system at approximately 25% less than the grid rate for the next decade, so this is definitely cost-efficient power.”

PROUD: “I am very pleased to present our new solar power system which will contribute to make our operation here at ENRX India even more sustainable”, says Managing Director Vishal Lodha (left). On the day when the panels were turned on, the control room was decorated with flowers and balloons.

50% OF THE ENERGY: The solar panels will meet up to 50% of the energy needs of the factory, effectively cutting the dependency on non-renewable energy sources in half. The solar panels have an expected lifespan of 25 years, ensuring a sustainable energy source for many years to come.
