Marcegaglia bolsters energy-efficient manufacturing with ENRX Weldac systems

Marcegaglia Carbon Steel continue their policy of energy saving and acquisition of high-tech equipment, placing their trust in ENRX once more.

ENRX is pleased to announce the finalization of a substantial order from one of our most esteemed clients. Marcegaglia has ordered eight state-of-the-art Compact Weldac welding systems which will be deployed at their facilities in Gazoldo degli Ippoliti and Lomagna, Italy, as well as at their factory in the UK. This order follows a previous purchase last summer when Marcegaglia invested in a further 19 welding systems for their facilities in Italy and Poland.

Marcegaglia, renowned as the largest independent global operator in the steel processing industry, has maintained a longstanding and fruitful collaboration with ENRX going back fifteen years. Roberto Ferrari, COO MCS and manager at the Tube Division of Marcegaglia's Casalmaggiore plant in Cremona, Italy, underscores the consistent positive experiences: "Our engagements with ENRX, spanning several years, have consistently met our expectations. Their product quality, reliability, and after-sales support are commendable."

Mauro Mazzoli, Sales Manager for the tube and pipe market at ENRX, comments on this significant sale to Marcegaglia: "This latest transaction solidifies ENRX's position as a leader in the induction welding systems sector. Our Weldac systems are renowned for their exceptional efficiency and reliability", he says.

ENRX offers Weldac systems with a broad range of power sizes, spanning from 50 kW up to 2200 kW, with a 1100 kW single-cabinet solution available. The Compact Weldac's compact design not only conserves valuable floor space but also streamlines in-line integration. Its short-circuit-proof, secure, and dependable operation results in increased uptime, translating into enhanced productivity. However, the standout feature of the Weldac is its unmatched energy efficiency, with SiC transistors achieving efficiency levels exceeding 95% at full output current for standard setups.

“This is of the utmost importance, not only from a sustainability perspective but also for cost reduction”, Mauro emphasizes. “Particularly now, as the energy crisis has imposed substantial operational cost increases on many in the tube and pipe industry."

Marcegaglia Carbon Steel's investment underscores its commitment to achieving high production efficiency, energy conservation, and environmental protection, aligning perfectly with the group's core objectives.
